Look at these fabulous high school seniors!

BlogPromo1

Don’t you want to be amongst them? Up here on the blog? Showing all your friends how crazy good you look? And handing out some beautiful senior photos from your session to all your friends?

BlogPromo2

What’s that? You haven’t had a session with Kia Gregory Photography, yet?

BlogPromo3

Then what are you waiting for!

Seniors, I present to you: one day of senior mini’s!

Saturday, February 28. Starts at 2 PM-ends at 5 PM. Only FIVE spots. So that means five seniors, 30 minutes each session. You bring one awesomely accessorized outfit, you do your hair and my fab friend, Michelle Tostado, will do the make up! Invite four of your friends to turn it into a party and I’ll even capture you and your friends on camera for posterity’s sake. (You know you want a big ol’ print of you and your friends hanging up on your wall before you enter the big world of adulthood.)

Don’t have four friends that want to be apart of this awesome event? It’s all good because THIS WILL FILL UP, so make sure you reserve your spot! The location is super secret and the only way you’re getting directions is when you book! So call me (834-7048 or e-mail me (kiagphoto [at] gmail.com), start picking out your outfit and accessories, and dreaming of getting the model treatment at your senior session. Did I mention there is going to be fun music and maybe a mini swag bag?

Cost is $175 per person. This includes an awesomely designed mini book with 10-15 of your favorite images and an on-line gallery in case mom and dad want to order some extras from your rockin’ session!

Like I said, session times will fill so call me as soon as you talk with your parents!

ACK! Sorry for the lack of posts. This week has been straight B.A.N.A.N.A.S. So B.A.N.A.N.A.S. that I have had three purses in the car and every time I get out to do something i had to take ALL THREE PURSES IN WITH ME BECAUSE I HAVEN’T HAD TIME TO COMBINE AND CONDENSE!

Anywho. I like that I’ve had my camera with me and picked it up just for fun. This kind of started because of a discussion with some fellow photogs at the [b] school. The question was, what do you shoot for fun? And in my head I was all, um, stuff? So here it is; more of the stuff I shoot for fun. Mainly the kids of course. And scenes from around the house. Oh, and a small confession, these aren’t scenes from Saturday but from Friday. But I needed to keep it consistent.

Olivia in her closet staples…dark skinnies, old euro tennies.

Ella’s class made these today. I swore it was a cat but upon further discussion of her weekly lesson with the letter “k”, it’s a kangaroo.

The neighbor’s morning glory takes over our fence every Spring. This Spring won’t be any different.

Thank you for looking.

Oh, and lots of good stuff coming to the blog in February! An engagement session at the Court House in San Francisco, another engagement session out in Vernalis, bridal shoot out in the country, more from the wedding I second shot with Caitlin Cathey and of course more scenes from Saturday. YAY for keeping busy! and YAY to you for coming back to support me!

new series of entries from me, where I won’t care if I use proper caps, spelling or punctuation (but I’ll try). I won’t care if my images are processed for that “oooh, ahh” effect.

These are just for me. When I take the time to slow down on the weekend. Our lazy Saturdays.

Enjoy.

Hope you enjoyed.

I had the extreme pleasure of second shooting for Caitlin Cathey, a wedding photographer based in Los Gatos, CA. This was a treat for me because I’ve never shot a winery, and the Testarossa Winery is just perfect!

Ben and Shestin, chose to do a first look so we had plenty of time to shoot all around the beautiful grounds at Testarossa. Isn’t this setting beautiful?

Woo hoo! We have a winner for the Spread the Love Tour!

Choosing a winner!

It’s Tammie Gilchrist!

Reading the winner!

Tammie, thanks for posting a comment to enter the contest!

It's Tammie Gilchrist!

See you February 8, 2010!

Thank you everyone for all the sweet, sweet blog love! It’s fun reading comments and then following up to see who left me the love!
(Tammie, I’ll e-mail you details later! Looking forward to meeting you!)

Thank you to my 2009 clients! Many of you have seen these on the blog before but I am new to the photography business world and while I was grabbing photos to post on my Kia Gregory Photography Facebook Fan Page I was smiling, looking at all my smiling clients and feeling blessed.

So here’s some of my favorite images from last years family sessions!

_KiaGregory_0006

Little Danny. Always a serious guy. Wonder if you’re eyes will be as blue next year?

_KiaGregory_0024

Little Miss Drew. So content to explore instead of bother with silly ol’ me.

_KiaGregory_0023

Sir William, I was surprised you sat this long! I’m working out so this year I can chase you down during our session.

_KiaGregory_0022

Oh, baby Lauren. Your Mama says you are moving all over. Does this mean those little leg rolls will go away?

_KiaGregory_0037

Little man, Caden. Such a little stud.

_KiaGregory_0035

Janae. Your smile is so bright! Your face so sweet.

_KiaGregory_0033

Isaac, you were the first baby I’ve wanted to eat since my own (tee hee). Your little face is so smooshable!

_KiaGregory_0029

Little Miss Zepeda Girls. Love your quiet natures, your seriousness and then these little moments of joy.

_KiaGregory_0011

Ella, ella, sweet little, Bella. Your hair is so luscious. I wanted to play with your hair instead of take your portraits!

Thank you, 2009, for bringing me wonderful families, with wonderful children that made me enjoy spending time with you!

My Spread the Love Tour Seat give-a-way is still going on until Friday, January 15 at 11:59 PM.

Comment anywhere on the blog and your name might be chosen through a random drawing! Instead of it being for San Francisco peeps only, IT’S OPEN TO ALL PEEPS that might be a stop on Justin and Mary Marantz’s Spread the Love Tour! C’mon people. C’mon!

All of these smiles contained below were 100% genuine and it made me realize, I absolutely love my job.

Meet the Mallies. The Mallie family is expecting. Micheal (like U-haul but MEE-HAUL) and Raquel have been married for a little over three years. They are expecting their first! In the Spring you might find them on the blog again with a wee babe in arms!

_KiaGregory_0015

This is Raquel’s family. The Ramos family! All the giggles are because I asked Mom and Dad to tell the sisters funny stories they’d never heard before. So we got to hear stories from Dad in Spanish and stories from mom in Portuguese.
_KiaGregory_0016

And lots of secrets that sisters still share even as they get older.

And lots of giggling in between. Made the session in this cold winter day fly by!

I love my clients for helping me enjoy what I do! Thanks again, Raquel and family!

Had the pleasure of second shooting for Caitlin Cathey at the Testa Rosa Winery in Los Gatos. It was a great experience. I had a lot of fun. And got to photograph some beautiful people.
For now, here are some teasers…

Just the feet? Yup. Just the feet. More to come later!

There is a contest involved I swear…just keep reading.

In July 2008, I left my wonderfully challenging administrative position at a little community college in Oregon for the glamorous lifestyle of a Real Housewife in San Joaquin County. Five months of conversing with a headstrong 3 year-old and an overly sensitive 5 year-old for the majority of the day will drive any person crazy. After talking with the Mister and some encouragement from friends I decided it was time to put my eye for photography to work.

Fastforward to June 2009. Kia Gregory Photography was established. Business license was in the mail. I put my name out there on the world-wide-web. I secured clients (and made some friends) for portfolio building. I began to develop my style (bright, full of life).

It’s been a year since I’ve been flying with this hope and a prayer and I am on a rollercoaster of feelings. No two days in my business are the same. Everything is off kilter. I still need to find the balance.

Enter the Spread the Love TourJustin and Mary Marantz, a husband and wife photography team based in New England, are on a workshop tour. The amount of workshops available to photographers is kind of confusing but when I read the information about this tour I thought…THIS IS IT! I NEED TO BE THERE. It’s a LIFE WORKSHOP!

So, the contest…I have one ticket available for the Spread the Love Tour that’s coming to San Francisco in ONE MONTH. On February 8, Justin and Mary will be expounding wisdom for all! To enter: leave a comment (make it meaningful) on my blog (anywhere) and in 7 days I will randomly choose a winner! PS IF YOU ARE COMMENTING FOR A SEAT. MENTION THAT YOU ARE FROM THE BAY AREA! Thanks!

If you don’t win, buy a seat here!

Good luck!
